Munchkin
The distribution of the Northern fur seal is the North Pacific and Bering Sea. It is rare to find these animals on our southern beaches. We believe this little one to have been born a little early and was found and rescued by our volunteers on a beach in Laguna when she was only a couple months old. Munchkin's condition quickly improved and she started growing and becoming more active.

Munchkin will be returning to the wild soon and she will join a number of fur seals that will be satellite tagged to help researchers track her. We are excited to be able to release Munchkin to a nearby fur seal colony. Please keep posted for further information on Munchkin's next adventure.
