Camp Pinniped 2010
Camp Pinniped is a summer day camp for 8-12 year olds. Our facility offers a unique experience for children to witness a marine mammal hospital in action! Provided with boots and slickers, campers learn how our animal care team rehabilitates our seal and sea lion (Pinniped) patients through a series of mock activities including weighing fish, preparing fish smoothies, cleaning pens and learning the art of marine mammal rescue. Each day has a different theme in order to provide a well-rounded study of our ocean environment. Each theme is creatively reinforced through games, arts and crafts. Camp runs Monday through Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Friday is a beach day from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon. The cost is $285 per camper. Class size is limited to 24 per session. Proceeds go to the medical treatment of our patients.
