Investigate the world of marine mammals through our one hour marine mammal education programs. All field trip programs include the opportunity to view and hear about current patient stories.

Availability: 1:00-2:00 pm or 3:00-4:00 pm Monday - Friday & 10:00-11:00 am or 12:00-1:00 pm on Saturdays.

Cost: $10 per person.

Limited to groups with 8 to 40 people.

There is a $25 non-refundable deposit for all programs. This will go towards program costs.

Our field trips align with Next Generation Science Standards and Ocean Literacy Principles.

Marine Mammal Rescue, Rehabilitation, and Release

(All Ages)

Our most popular field trip! Get an introduction to the Pacific Marine Mammal Center. Learn how we rescue marine mammals and nurse them back to health in order to give them a second chance at life. 


Marine Mammal Senses

(Ages 5 to 8)

Learn about the sensory systems of marine mammals and how they are the same but also different than a human’s senses. Learn how adaptations allow them to live in the ocean environment. 


California Sea Lion Anatomy and Biology

(Ages 9 and up)

Learn about the biology and adaptations that make California sea lions unique and able to live efficiently in the ocean environment.


California Sea Lion Life History, Ecology, and Conservation

(Ages 9 and up)

Learn about California sea lions and how they live. Learn about what they need to survive and what threats they face.
