Girl Scout Presentations

Let your scouts investigate the world of marine mammals through the It’s Your Planet—Love It! Leadership Journey. Girls get the opportunity to learn about environmental issues such as clean water and air, noise pollution, global warming, soil contamination, and agricultural processes. Each Journey is packed with current environmental information and offers ways to interact on topics that affect everyone on the planet. The program is approximately 1.5 hours long.

Availability: 1:00-2:30 pm or 3:00-4:30 pm Monday - Friday & 10:00-11:30 am or 12:30-2:00 pm on Saturdays.

Cost: $15 per person. *Includes PMMC Fun Patch.

Limited to groups with 8 to 24 people.

There is a $25 non-refundable deposit. This will go toward program costs.

Daisies: Helping Marine Mammals

Scouts learn the story of how the Pacific Marine Mammal Center rescued a sea lion named Tim Tam. They break into groups and create a craft to help determine the differences between seals and sea lions. 

Includes a 30 minute PowerPoint presentation, a 30 minute hands-on activity, and a 30 minute tour of our current patients.

*This program fulfills partial requirements of the "5 Flower, 4 Stories, 3 Cheers for Animals" Journey.

Brownies: How Pollution Impacts Marine Mammals

Scouts learn how pollution is affecting marine mammals They complete a watershed model or pollution buster monster to illustrate how trash gets into our oceans.

Includes a 30 minute PowerPoint presentation, a 30 minute hands-on activity, and a 30 minute tour of our current patients.

*This program fulfills partial requirements of the "WOW: Wonders of Animals" Journey.

 

Juniors: Marine Mammal Rescue & Rehabilitation

Scouts learn how the Pacific Marine Mammal rescues, rehabilitates, and releases marine mammals. They participate in mock rescues and rehabilitation exercises.

Includes a 30 minute PowerPoint presentation, a 30 minute hands-on activity, and a 30 minute tour of our current patients.

*This program fulfills partial requirements of the "Get Moving" Journey.
