California coasts are known for their pristine beaches and awe inspiring marine wildlife. However, what some may not know is that this marine wildlife, specifically marine mammals, is in danger. In the first months of 2016 alone, the West Coast experienced an unprecedented amount of sea lion and seal pup strandings as part of an unusual mortality event (UME).
