Amanda received a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from the University of Missouri, Columbia in 2017. Her passion for helping animals began at a very young age, so she was excited to start volunteering at the Pacific Marine Mammal Center in 2012. She began as a gift shop volunteer and became a docent the following year. After graduating college, Amanda worked as a camp counselor and transitioned into volunteering in animal care.
Along with other experience, Amanda has been the Public Relations Chair for a service dog organization, an educator for the Ocean Institute and had the opportunity to work as a dolphin trainer in Hawaii. Amanda is a certified naturalist for the Orange County chapter of the American Cetacean Society and is Scuba certified. She hopes to make a difference and support a cause she’s passionate about through education at the Pacific Marine Mammal Center.
