BOARD MEMBER SPOTLIGHT
Ed batlle
Ed Batlle has served on the Board of Directors for 9 years. Prior to serving on the board, he helped facilitate and obtain permitting for the Next Wave expansion project, as a Chemical Engineer.
Initially, his love for animals inspired Batlle to engage with PMMC but he says, “The people at Pacific Marine Mammal Center make the organization really special. It is extraordinary to see the volunteers and employees who do this work out of love for our causes and goals. At first, I was inspired by the incredible rescue and rehabilitation program, but I am also impressed with our outreach in education and research.
I am confident that we are doing something special here that will benefit our planet and the future.”
Batlle, Vice President at Jacob & Hefner Associates, has spent his entire professional career cleaning and remediating soil and groundwater.
He says, “It is an environmental aspect that the majority of the people do not see or know about. My efforts are to try and protect the water humans drink. Here at PMMC, you can see with your own eyes what our efforts are doing to benefit our oceans. Through our education and research, we will help future generations enjoy the wildlife beneath the sea, protect the seafood we need to sustain life, and make it healthier for all of us.”
