Animal care volunteers are integral to our ability to rehabilitate sick and injured marine mammals. Volunteers help with preparing food, washing dishes, cleaning enclosures and pools, feeding, and weighing our patients. Animal care volunteers also assist with rescues and help release healthy patients back to their natural habitat.

Instructors give tours, presentations, and facilitate activities about marine mammal conservation to audiences of all ages at PMMC. Inspiring an appreciation of marine animals, ocean stewardship, and the science behind conservation is at the heart of every program.

Docents are the face of PMMC who greet the public in our visitor yard, sharing our patients’ stories as well as PMMC’s mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and release sick or injured marine mammals, while also relaying conservation challenges and inspiring ocean stewardship solutions. Treasure Trove volunteers greet and assist our visitors with their gift shop purchases and payment transactions.
